Adoption Services

Adoption is incredible. It is also daunting and can be quite confusing. We have YEARS of experience in helping couples and expectant/birth parents navigate adoption. We would love to assist you on your adoption journey.

What We Do

To legally adopt a child, a family must have an approved homestudy. A homestudy is a written document that includes background checks, letters of recommendation, health information and a safety evaluation of your home.

An approved homestudy can be used by an attorney or a private adoption agency to facilitate an adoption placement.

If it takes longer than a year to adopt, homestudies must be updated annually.

After an adoption occurs, supervisory visits are required to ensure the child and family are thriving.

We are licensed to provide homestudies, updates and supervisory visits.

In addition, we can provide:

  • Grief counseling for birth parents
  • Adoption training
  • Attorney recommendations
  • Help with navigating open relationships between adoptive and birth families

Differences Between a Private Provider & An Agency

Arise is NOT a child placing agency. We do not facilitate adoptions. If you are looking for an entity to write your study and match you with a birth parent for placement, you will want to seek a private adoption agency. If, however, you have already been matched with an expectant parent or are hoping to do your own advertising to find a match, selecting a private provider is much more cost effective.

Our Fees

Adoption is much more than becoming parents to a child not biologically born to you. For adoption to be healthy for all parties involved, it requires training and an open mind. For this reason, we provide training to our couples. If you have already received formal training, we will discount the costs of our services.

  • Homestudy* $800 (up to $150 can be discounted for verified training in the last 3 years**)
  • Homestudy update* $300 (up to $75 can be discounted for verified training in the last 3 years**)
  • Supervisory visits $150 (includes one visit and one call during the supervisory period)
  • Birth parent grief counseling $100/session

Casework services:

First consultation is free. If additional help is needed, whether by phone or by office visit, cost is $75 an hour.

*Although you may pay for a completed homestudy, your payment does NOT entitle you to receive an approved homestudy if concerns come up during the homestudy process. If concerns prevent you from being approved, you will be provided with the requirements that must be met before you can be approved.

**Formal training can be from online sources such as Adoption Learning Partners, conference attendance such as UAC or support group meetings such as FSA.
